Fly Fishing Near Winchester

• River Itchen - mostly private, but expensive day and season tickets available from The Rod Box. Trout - Autumn 2010; Grayling - January 2011.
• Avington Trout Fishery - January 2011.
• Meon Springs Trout Fishery - February 2011.
• Church Paddock, Winchester. (Opens 1 April 2011.)
• Test carriers at Wherwell - contact the Estate Office on 01264 860243. Hugh O'Reilly also organises occasional fishing there.
• Woodington Fishery nr. Romsey - apparently has a stretch of river as well as lakes.
• Holbury Lakes - casting on the river there looks a bit tricky for a novice.
• Test carrier at Kimbridge.
• Avon Springs fishery - 3/4 mile of the upper Avon plus the two lakes.
• John O'Gaunt's fishery in Kings Somborne.
• Amport Trout Fishery off the A303 near Andover.
• Dever Springs Trout Fishing near Whitchurch.
